CREATING INTERNET WEB SITE FAVORITES WITH WORD PROCESSING SOFTWARE

There are two ways to manage Internet web site address favorites on your computer
1. The most common way is to save your favorite web site addresses while you are on a web site, is by using the Favorites tab on the Menu bar of Internet Explorer
2. The other way is to produce a list of your favorite web site address on word processing software, like Works or Word. We cover both ways below:

ADDING A WEB ADDRESS TO YOUR INTERNET EXPLORTER FAVORITES

Sometimes you are looking at a web page that you would like to return to frequently. You can do this by putting this web site address into your Internet Explorer Favorites, just click on Favorites on the Menu bar. You will get a dialog box called Add Favorites. In the Name field give the web site a name you will remember by typing it in to the Name field, now just click on OK. That will put this web site in your Favorites. When you want to go back to this web site click on Favorites on the Menu bar and then click on this web name you gave it.

PUTTING WEB ADDRESSES ON A WORD PROCESSING DOCUMENT

Sometimes it is desirable to put a list of web addresses on a word processing document. Then if you save it to a flash drive you can take this list anyplace. Then open the document, find the desired web address, hold down the Ctrl key, and click on that address - you will be connected to that address on the Internet.
To prepare this document just open your favorite word processing software (Microsoft Works or Word) and type the web address with a space at the end. Putting a space at the end of the web address is very important.  Here are a few examples that you can put on a document and try them out: again be sure to put a space at the end of each address

One of the big advantages of producing a document like the one above is that you can put a shortcut of this document on your Desktop.
