CONNECTING TO A WIRELESS HOTSPOT WITH A LAPTOP

 

After starting your laptop and waiting until it comes up completely – you will know this if both the Quick Launch and System Tray areas are compactly filled out.

In the System Tray look for the two little computers and right click on them. You will get menu look for a sentence that says  “Open Network Connections” (Windows XP) or “Connect to a Network” (Windows Vista).

Click on one of them.

You will get another display – this one for Vista is titled “Connect to a Network” and will display all the hotspots that are in range of your computer and how powerful they are.

click on the one you want then click on the Connect button.

The next display will ask you if you want to proceed and you say yes you do.
