COPYING A FOLDER FROM ONE FLASH DRIVE TO ANOTHER

GENERAL
In the instructions below when it says click, it means left click
USING THE “SENT TO” METHOD
Plug both flash drives into a USB port (You might have to have a USB hub attached to your computer to do this)
Click on the Start button at the lower left corner of your monitor screen
Click on My Computer (XP) or Computer (Vista)
Open the sending flash drive where the folder exists that you want to Sent To the receiving flash drive.
Identify the folder that you want to Send To and right click on it – you will get a menu.
Put your mouse arrow on Sent To – you will get another menu
Identify the flash drive you want to sent this folder to and click on it – you should see a picture of files being passed from one folder to another.
To see if everything when ok open the receive folder to see it the files got transferred to it
USING THE DRAGGING AND DROPPING METHOD
GENERAL
It is better if all other programs are closed before you start this process
You should have already plugged both flash drives into USB ports
DRAG AND DROPPING FROM FLASH DRIVE TO FLASH DRIVE
First open your My Computer (XP) or Computer (Vista) screen. There are at least two different ways of doing this:
Click on the master Start button on the lower left of your screen and then left click on the My Computer icon
RIGHT click on the My Computer icon on the Desktop, and then left click on Open. Note: on some computers there is no My Computer Icon on the Desktop
You will see the icons for both your flash drives on the screen. . Open one of the flash drives by RIGHT clicking and left clicking on Open. Drag it to the RIGHT side of you monitor screen by putting your mouse on the Title Bar and holding down the left button and moving the frame to the RIGHT of the screen. Now go back and open the My Computer screen again and open the other flash drive. And drag it to the left side of you monitor screen, again dragging it from the Title Bar. You should now have both of the flash drives your monitor screen with the folders displayed
TILE WINDOWS VERTICALLY (XP) OR SHOW WINDOWS SIDE BY SIDE (VISTA)
This is done by RIGHT CLICKING IN AN EMPTY SPACE ON THE TASK BAR- then clicking on either Tile Windows Vertically or Show Windows Side by Side.
THE DRAGGING AND DROPPING OPERATION FLASH DRIVE TO FLASH DRIVE
On the flash drive that contains the folder that you want to drag, scroll the screen up and down with your mouse wheel until you find the folder you want to drag over to the other flash drive. Once you have located the folder put you mouse arrow on it and hold down the left mouse button and drag the folder over to the other flash drive and drop it in an empty place on the flash drive. That will put a copy of that folder on your second flash drive. You will see the computer doing this operation
DETERMINING HOW MUCH OF YOUR FLASH DRIVE YOU HAVE USED
Since Flash drives have a limited capacity it is necessary once in awhile to look at how much is being used compared to how much is spare.
Open you My Computer Icon. On the screen RIGHT click on the flash drive icon that is the subject. On the next screen, click on Properties, now under the “General” tab, you should see a display showing how much is used and how much is spare.
